It was 40 years ago today (Fri) that former Prime Minister John Diefenbaker died, and to mark the anniversary, there was a special unveiling in Prince Albert. The Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada representative for Saskatchewan commemorated the national historic significance of the John and Olive Diefenbaker museum with a plaque.
It’s the house that John G. Diefenbaker lived in before he became the Prime Minister and is furnished in the style it would have been at the time. Diefenbaker was Canada’s 13th Prime Minister, and he was Prince Albert’s M.P. from 1953 to 1979.
