The Saskatoon Fire Department has responded to a 911 call about a person in distress in the river by the Victoria Boathouse. Battalion 3 Chief Bill Riley says numerous people witnessed a person go under. Water rescue boats with sonar technology and firefighter-divers have been deployed. The public is advised to avoid using the river around the Victoria Boathouse to keep it clear for water rescue personnel.
