For the first time in 526 days, former Bronco Ryan Straschnitzki will be back today in Humboldt, Saskatchewan.
Straschnitzki was paralyzed from the chest down when a semi truck blew a stop sign and barreled into the path of the junior hockey team’s bus on April 6th of last year.
Sixteen people died and 13 were injured.
Straschnitzki, who is from Airdrie, Alberta, hasn’t returned to Humboldt since then.
But he’ll be back there today for the team’s season opener and 50th anniversary celebrations.
