Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Bust
Saskatoon Police say officer spotted activity consistent with drug trafficking and pulled over a vehicle around 2 p.m. Wednesday afternoon near Circle Drive and Idylwyld Drive. A 36 year old man was arrested. Police seized 13-hundred dollars in cash, three cell phones, and 38.1 grams of crack cocaine packaged for distribution.
About an hour and a half later a second was arrested after a vehicle was pulled over in the 15-hundred block of Junor Avenue. Police say they seized 2-hundred dollars in cash, 0.3 grams of soft cocaine, 0.3 grams of fentanyl powder and two cell phones.
Because of those arrests, a search warrant was executed in the 31-hundred block of 33rd Street West where an additional 15-thousand-2-hundred-30 dollars in cash was seized.
Both men are facing multiple charges including possession and trafficking of drugs.
Attempted Identity Theft
A 35 year old woman, in addition to being charged with Fraud, is charged with Identity Theft and Possession of Identity Documents.
The Saskatoon Police Service started their investigation in December, 2019 after a woman reported her wallet was stolen from a business in the 100 block of 33rd Street East. In January, the victim received notices that several credit cards had been applied for, using her stolen identification.
As a result of investigation by the Economic Crime Unit, a 35 year old woman was arrested on February 14th.
