Ron Woznow and his friend Robin Murray, who grew up in Ogema, have started a campaign to get Tommy Douglas put on the new 5 dollar bank note.
Douglas is dubbed the “father of modern medicare” in Canada, and served as Saskatchewan Premier from 1944-1961.
Nominations are still underway and are open until March 11th.
Murray added that the five-dollar bill would be best suited to bear Douglas face because it s a common bill and the blue would symbolize Saskatchewan skies.
