An Edmonton man is facing 19 charges after being pulled over last Saturday by the Saskatchewan Highway Patrol near Caronport and police are working to identify and notify possible victims.
It began when the officer noticed an equipment violation with no mud flaps and a tinted license plate cover, so he pulled the truck over.
Police report the driver produced a license that didn’t appear authentic and the Alberta plate didn’t match the vehicle registration.
It’s alleged he then took off while the officer was checking into the situation.
Moose Jaw RCMP were called in to help and followed the truck to a home in Mortlach.
A 39 year old man was eventually arrested without incident.
Officers say the truck was stolen from Edmonton, and when the home was searched, it’s alleged multiple stolen identifications were seized including driver’s license, SIN cards and vehicle registrations.
Trevor Stross is facing 19 charges including flight from a peace officer, possession of a prohibited firearm, possession of meth and altering a vehicle identification number.
Police are encouraging anyone who has had their I.D. stolen to report it to their nearest police service or RCMP Detachment.
