The Salvation Army started handing out bagged meals throughout Saskatoon.
Outreach Coordinator Erin Haaland says the meals are being delivered via their Community Response vehicle in various neighbourhoods as well as the parks they regularly visit in the summer when they provide lunch for children.
Only now, because of the need created by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Salvation Army is handing out bagged meals to whomever may require one. Haaland says Wednesday is a bit of a test run with 300 bagged meals available.
They are trying to spread the information as to where they will be located through social media and word of mouth.
