Just after 10 that night a Canadian Ranger for the teen about 3 kilometres from where he entered the forested area along the road.
He had no serious injuries and was reunited with his family.
Acting La Ronge Detachment Commander, Josh Hallett, says it was critical the boy was found before dark, because he had no overnight supplies or equipment.
He adds that the RCMP are fortunate to have an excellent partnership with the Canadian Rangers.
They have local expertise and are able to gather a large number of searchers quickly.
