A 9 year old boy was taken to hospital in critical condition late Tuesday afternoon after drowning in Pike Lake.
The Saskatoon Fire Department got the call a few minutes after 4 p.m. that a child was missing near the water. Water rescue arrived to find police and ambulance working to revive an unresponsive 9 year old boy on the shoreline.
Fire officials say they understood the child was not wearing a lifejacket or PFD when he was removed from the water.Firefighter paramedics assisted in CPR as STARS Air Ambulance flew him to Saskatoon hospital at 4:53 p.m. in critical condition.
The Saskatoon Fire Department says it was a collaborative response from Medavie Health Services, the RCMP, STARS Air Ambulance, Delisle and District Fire Department and the Saskatchewan Provincial Parks staff.
