Saskatoon Police responded to a report around one o’clock Sunday morning of a woman attempting to harm herself. Officers arrived at a home on the 700 block of 8th Street East and saw the woman armed with a knife and in distress. Police say she barricaded herself in a room and refused to come out. Officers entered the room and deployed a taser to take the 30 year old woman into custody. Medavie Health Services took the woman to hospital.
Because of the use of the Conducted Energy Weapon, the incident will be reviewed in accordance with police policy.
