Metis Nation-Saskatchewan has introduced a pilot project that helps with the cost of healthy food. It’s for eligible cancer patients who are away for medical appointments. The six-month pilot project will provide patients with payments for healthy food. It is running with the assistance of the FoodRescue.ca Emergency Fund through Agriculture Canada’s Second Harvest initiative. The program is running in conjunction with the Cancer Transportation Pilot Program which provides financial reimbursements for gas and parking.
To find out more about this pilot project, contact CPAC Project Coordinator, Tayna Pruden
