The incumbent for Saskatoon’s Ward 9 says she is very aware that that the pensions and wages people are living on doesn’t keep pace with tax increases. Bev Dubois says that is why she always lobbies for lower taxes while also working to ensure core services are also of utmost priority like safe sidewalks and roads, clean drinking water, waste collection and the services that affect everyday life.
Economic development and community safety are also priorities for Dubois who points out that with the pandemic there are even more mental health issues and she feels it is important to give police the tools and assistance they need like social workers and psychologists to help deal with the calls they have to answer.
Dubois notes she has experience as an elected government official and has been on council for 13 years with a good track record and is accessible to her constituents and returns all phone calls and emails. She also says she is proud of how city council dealt with the pandemic to keep Saskatoon residents safe and healthy.
