Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools has been told by Saskatchewan Health Authority of positive COVID-19 cases in two people at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic School and one person at Bethlehem Catholic High School. The case at Bethlehem is being investigated as a variant of concern. SHA is recommending that all close contacts get tested. Risk of exposure for anyone not considered a close contact remains low.
The affected classes/cohorts will switch to online learning.
The Saskatchewan Health Authority has declared a COVID-19 outbreak at Hugh Cairns V.C. School.
Classes at the school will continue as scheduled.
In addition to the one case there, on the weekend the school division was notified of two other cases at Brevoort Park School and one at Tommy Douglas Collegiate.
To date this school year, Saskatoon Public Schools has been notified of three positive cases at Hugh Cairns.
Since the start of the school year, Saskatoon Public Schools has had 308 positive cases at 57 locations in the division – 56 schools and the board office.
