Where’s Frank? Frank Atchison age 94, has already managed 23 days of walking and traversed 140 kilometers from Saskatoon en route to Regina. He kicked off Monday from Craik.
Mr. Atchison is on Highway 11, walking from Saskatoon to Regina with the goal of arriving in the Queen City on his 95th birthday. He will also be celebrating 50 years as a Shriner, so he is raising funds with this walk with proceeds going equally to Shriners Hospitals for Children Canada and the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation.
Mr. Atchison says he has met many people along the way. Recently Sylvie Kot and her son Kayden dropped by to thank him for his efforts. Her family travelled to Montreal to the Shriner’s Hospital so Kayden could get major surgery for severe scoliosis in his back, which Sylvie Kot called life changing for Kayden. She says for Frank to be raising money at 94 years old, “he is a gift of a human being”.
Frank hopes to arrive in Chamberlain by the end of this week. As of Mon, the walk has raised approximately $21,000. Click here to donate.
