A man charged in a 2020 homicide, who was arrested while attempting to cross the border into the United States in January, has been returned to Canada.
Afrah Ali arrived in Saskatoon on Tuesday and appeared in court Wednesday morning on his charge of Second Degree Murder.
On August 21st, 2020, 30 year old Logan Nayneecassum was found injured at a restaurant-pub in the 200 block of Slimmon Road in the Lakewood neighbourhood and was pronounced dead in hospital. It was Saskatoon’s 9th homicide of the year.
A Canada-wide warrant was issued within a week of the shooting, for 32 year old Ali.
