Pierceland RCMP are looking for a suspect in an attempted sexual assault where the victim managed to fight off her assailant.
It happened at 7:20 yesterday evening near the gate of the Meadow Lake Provincial Park when a man, armed with a knife, approached a female who was working in the area and tried to sexually assault her. She suffered minor injuries in her escape after fighting him off.
The suspect is described as under 30 years old, tall and thin with tan skin wearing dark clothing, sunglasses and a bandana covering his face.
Pierceland RCMP says its members are actively investigating this incident, which occurred in a rural, wooded area. Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment Conservation Officers and Saskatchewan RCMP’s Police Dog Services, Forensic Identification Section and North Battleford General Investigation Section are assisting.
Anyone who saw parked vehicles or pedestrians in the area on Tuesday evening are asked to contact Pierceland RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
