A 35 year-old Saskatoon man who killed his mom and seriously injured his dad has been found not criminally responsible for his actions. On January 6th of this year, police were called to a disturbance at a home in the 200 block of Wakaw Place located in the city’s Lakeview neighbourhood. Justice Mona Dovell ruled Monday that Kevin Hollman was not criminally responsible for the murder of his 60 year-old mom, Debbie Hollman and the attempted murder of his father, Gary Hollman. After Hollman was arrested, a psychiatrist determined he was schizophrenic. Hollman’s future will now be decided by the Saskatchewan Review Board as the verdict found him not to be criminally responsible. Dovell is recommending that Hollman be transferred from police custody to Saskatchewan Hospital in North Battleford for further treatment.
