Katelyn Noble’s killer, Eduard Baranec has been sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for 10 years. Baranec was originally charged with first-degree murder in the 2007 death of 15 year-old Noble but pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter in May. Baranec was arrested at a federal prison in BC back in 2018. He is currently serving a life sentence for the murder of a mother of three that he was paid to kill. Katelyn Noble was originally from BC but had moved to the Radisson area. She went missing in August of 2007 near Radisson.
According to an agreed statement of facts, Baranec slit Noble’s throat in some bushes on a farm in the Radisson area. Noble and Baranec were both known to each other. Baranec was sentenced Friday afternoon at Court of Queen’s Bench in Saskatoon where he also received a concurrent five-year sentence for offering an indignity to human remains.
