Around 5 o’clock Thursday afternoon, Glaslyn RCMP responded to a report of northbound car who attempted to pass, striking a semi that was turning in front of them on Highway 4 approximately 32 kilometres south of Meadow Lake.
The crash ripped the roof of the car off and destroyed the front windshield.
The car then continued to drive to Meadow Lake before stopping at a home on the east side.
RCMP say officers followed the woman and determined she wasn’t injured.
She was then taken to the Meadow Lake Detachment and reassessed for any injuries.
Police allege that after their investigation it was determined the woman was around four times the legal limit and officers seized six empty and one half-full bottle of alcohol after a search of the car.
Meadow Lake RCMP have charged a 27 year-old woman with a number of offences including impaired driving
A court date hasn’t been determined yet.
