Fifteen military nurses who were deployed to Regina’s General Hospital are returning home. When cases were on the rise in October the nurses were brought in to help with the surge. Back on October 22nd, when it was announced that the nurses would be deployed to Saskatchewan, the province had 308 people in hospital for COVID-19 with 80 in intensive care. Friday’s update had 136 people in hospital for the virus, with 34 in an ICU, plus an additional four ICU admissions in Ontario. According to a tweet from the Third Canadian Division, the nurses who left the province yesterday (fri), backfilled nurse positions, assisted in the ICU and helped to alleviate pressures put on acute care wards.
