SaskPower is launching a $2 million dollar EV charging station program. The crown corporation says in a news release the SaskPower Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Program is designed to help businesses or organizations install around 20 EV fast charging stations along major Saskatchewan highways. Acting President and CEO at SaskPower, Troy King says “Though there are still a relatively small number of electric vehicles on Saskatchewan roads, it’s expected that this market will grow.” Starting this month, SaskPower will start taking applications from companies interested in building fast charging infrastructure. Highways 11 and 16 and some secondary highways will be the main focus of the project.
