The City of Prince Albert and the Saskatchewan Rivers Public School Division have partnered on a transportation solution. As of next fall, the school division will no longer have regular bus service for high school students, and instead will encourage them to use Prince Albert Transit. Transportation services for students in specialized learning centres and the Functional Integrated programs will continue with Saskatchewan Rivers Public School Division.
Transportation and Traffic Manager for the City of P.A., Evan Hastings suggests the partnership will give students more options, with continuous service throughout the day and more stops serving more areas. The City will be examining potential transit route modifications to more effectively serve these students. Subsidized bus passes at $20 a month are available for high school students, and can be used throughout the year, not just on school days.
