The second annual STARS radiothon is now on the air across Saskatchewan.
Chief fundraising and brand officer, Terri Strunk, says as a not-for-profit, STARS raises half their funding through donations, and the other half comes from the provincial government.
Donations from the “Critical Care On The Air” radiothon will support the purchase of new butterfly ultrasound machines as well as the ongoing operation expenses for the air ambulance service in Saskatchewan.
Strunk says STARS carries out an average of eight missions a day across Western Canada, and flew 901 missions in Saskatchewan in the last year alone.
BHP is matching the first $50,000 in donations Wednesday and GMS will match the same amount Thursday. Every time #STARScareontheair is used on social media, Stride Management will donate $100 up to a total of $10,000.
