New Jersey defenseman Damon Severson and Columbus forward Cole Sillinger are among the 24 players named to represent Canada at the World Hockey Championship in Finland.
Severson from Melville and Sillinger from Regina will suit up for the National Team in the competition that runs May 13th through May 29th. Canada will attempt to defend the World Championship in a tournament without Russia and Belarus, which have been barred following the invasion of Ukraine.
Logan Thompson of the Las Vegas Knight is expected to start in goal for Canada in the opening game against Germany. Other teams in Group A are Italy, Slovakia, Kazahkstan, Denmark, France and Switzerland. The entire Team Canada roster can be viewed here
