Three Saskatoon tech companies are in Montreal this week, along with representatives from SREDA and tech incubator Co.Labs for Startupfest. It’s SREDA’s third annual entrepreneurship program called The Tech Trip. In a news release, SREDA says winners are selected based on the viability of their technology and their readiness for capital investment.
Saskatoon Media Group’s newsroom spoke to one of the chosen tech companies which is ‘Let’s Camp’. Let’s Camp is an online campground booking system. Founder, Michael Yasieniuk, explains that it connects campers with campgrounds, and it’s a full reservation system for campgrounds to manage bookings and collect fees. He says Let’s Camp manages a lot of the regional and private parks in Saskatchewan, and they have expanded to campgrounds across Canada. His goal at Startupfest is to make new connections, meet other tech companies to talk about challenges and solutions, and to meet possible new investors.
Startupfest is Canada’s original startup event, which according to its website, says is widely regarded as one of the world’s must-attend startup conferences. “It is the annual gathering at which entrepreneurs, investors, makers, large enterprises, industry veterans, and startup communities chart the course of technology entrepreneurship in a one-of-a-kind festival atmosphere.”
