Forty-eight year-old Dawn Walker and her seven-year-old son Vincent Jansen who were reported missing in Saskatoon nearly two weeks ago have been found alive south of the international border in Oregon City, Oregon.

Saskatoon Police in conjunction with the United States Department of Homeland Security say the two were located around 11:30 a.m. CST Friday morning.

The investigation which involved numerous Saskatoon Police Service units, government agencies, the RCMP, Saskatoon Fire Department, Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations, external private industry partners, the CBSA, Canadian Air Transport Security Authority, the Canadian Centre for Child Protection, the Billings Police Department, Oregon City Police and the West Linn, Oregon Police Department established the mother and son duo had crossed the border illegally.

The investigation then tracked them to Oregon City. At this time, U.S. authorities are considering the implications and potential action as a result of illegal entry into the U.S. Pending action by United States officials, Walker will be returned to Saskatoon to meet with investigators.

The Saskatoon Police Service and U.S. officials are working on the details of returning Vincent Jansen to a legal guardian.

Saskatoon Police say further details will be released on Monday.
