Regina Police say they have a 13-year-old girl in custody following an incident at F.W. Johnson Collegiate Friday which put the school into lockdown.
Six other schools in the area were put into secure-the-building mode.
Deputy Chief Lorilee Davies provided an update yesterday (fri).
āIām happy to report that we have a suspect in custody following an incident at F.W. Johnson Collegiate this morning (fri). We received a call at about 9:15 of a firearm in the school. Our officers immediately responded, and a lockdown was immediately enacted as well as a secure the building for neighbouring schools.ā
Police cleared the building and determined the female suspect was no longer inside the school.
Officers located a firearm believed to have been used in the incident at a home on Fleet Street. Officers determined it to be an airsoft firearm.
More details pertaining to charges will be released by police once they become available.
