The Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations held its grand opening today for its new building on the Kahkewistahaw First Nation’s land on the south side of Claypool Drive. The First Nation celebrated the grand opening of its first business on the land, a gas station, on Thursday.
Last fall, the FSIN erected large teepee poles in front of the building, which at the time was already under construction. You may have seen it if have have been on Airport Drive or Claypool Drive in north Saskatoon. The poles come from the Haida Territory and Chief Bobby Cameron stated at the time, it was built to last for hundreds of years, just like the FSIN.
