The Saskatoon Fire Department says a house fire in the 900 block of Avenue J South is suspicious.

The call came in at 2:12 a.m. Tuesday morning and when crews arrived, they saw visible flames coming from a two-storey house on fire. The detached garage also caught fire.

Both the house and the garage were searched and found to be vacant. Firefighters brought the fire under control and at 3:59 a.m. the fire scene was turned over to the Fire Investigator. Shortly before 5 a.m. Tuesday the scene was then turned over to a Police Arson Investigator.

Cause of the fire is suspicious. Damage is estimated at $150,000. If anyone has any information or evidence related to this fire, please contact the Saskatoon Police Service at 306-975-8300.
