A 24-year-old man from Toronto has been arrested and faces multiple charges after the Saskatoon Police Service Drug Unit concluded an investigation into drug trafficking activities.
On Wednesday, the S-P-S Drug and Tactical Support Units initiated enforcement action on a man suspected of trafficking drugs. Officers attempted to stop a vehicle driven by the suspect in the 200 block of Willis Crescent. Police say he wouldn’t stop and drove in a dangerous manner until striking a parked vehicle in the area of Cope Crescent before fleeing on foot. He was quickly located and arrested without further incident in the 3000 block of Clarence Avenue South.
A subsequent search warrant, executed at an address in the 200 block of Willis Crescent, led police to locate and seize a 2012 Ford Focus, 103.29 grams of cocaine, 5.06 grams of crack, 34.14 grams of buffing agent, a loaded .45-calibre handgun, $17,835 in cash plus assorted paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking (pictured). The man faces several charges for drug trafficking, weapons, hit and run, possession of the proceeds of crime and failing to comply with court-imposed conditions. Investigators also belief the suspect may have struck other vehicles while trying to flee from police. Anyone with a vehicle parked along Willis Crescent, Cornish Road or Cope Crescent is encouraged to check their vehicles for any signs of related damage and report it to the S-P-S.
