In an effort to get youth outdoors this summer, the Valley View Wildlife Federation is providing some local children with their own fishing rod.
Every student from kindergarten to Grade 9 in both Macdonald and Grayson schools will receive their own rod, as well as home-schooled students in Stockholm and Dubuc. All youth Valley View Wildlife Federation members from kindergarten to Grade 9 will also be receiving a fishing rod. In total, 200 rods will be provided by the organization.
The Valley View Wildlife Federation is a branch of the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation, and by gifting the children with fishing rods, they hope to spark their interest in the outdoors and conservation.
Becoming a Valley View Wildlife Federation member takes just $5, and a family membership is $35.
