It’s time to get your treat on to help the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital and the children and families who need it. Today (Thurs) is Dairy Queen Miracle Treat Day. It means the net proceeds from every Blizzard Treat sold today go to children’s hospitals across the country. What is raised in Saskatchewan will go to the JPCH.
Community Engagement Manager with the JPCH Foundation, Jada Kook, says $56 million has been raised across Canada. Last year, $3.1 million was raised and in Saskatchewan the total last year was $240,000.
Kook says whether you are treating yourself, your family or your friends to a Blizzard today, you directly impact the lives of over 66,000 babies and children who visit the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital each year. The proceeds go to helping fund much-needed equipment, both pediatric and maternal within the hospital, as well as family-centered care and programs across the province, and dedicated research to keep kids and families as close to home as possible.
If you aren’t able to enjoy a blizzard, Kook says you can drop off donations at any Dairy Queen or you can donate through the JPCH Foundation’s website. The Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation has been involved in Dairy Queen’s Miracle Treat Day for 21 years now, but Dairy Queen’s partnership with the Children’s Miracle Network Canada has been ongoing since 1984.
The Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation is the only Saskatchewan member of the Children’s Miracle Network.
