Update: The Saskatoon Police Service has a few more details about the train and pedestrian collision this morning (Thurs). Around 6 a.m., officers were called to 25th Street and Idylwyld Drive about the accident. A 31 year old woman was transported to hospital by ambulance with what are believed to be non life threatening injuries. There were traffic restrictions in place during the investigation, which have since been lifted. During the morning commute, it became a domino effect as drivers looked for alternate routes, causing tie-ups on all the major routes.
Previous: Details are sketchy but Saskatoon Police say traffic restrictions have been lifted in downtown Saskatoon after a collision between a train and a pedestrian. Restrictions were put in place at 25th Street and Idylwyld Drive earlier this morning. Those restrictions were lifted shortly before 8 a.m. and the Saskatoon Police Service says the train started moving out of the downtown around 7:25 a.m. however no further information has been provided regarding the victim.
