Saskatchewan Equine Expo is a joint venture between the Saskatchewan Horse Federation, the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, and the Prairieland Park Agriculture Department.
Trainers, coaches, veterinarians, and horse lovers of all kinds will travel to Saskatoon for the four-day event, which begins Thursday evening.
“There are horses of almost every breed that come and participate, which seldom happens at any other horse show throughout the country,” said Joe Rybinski, the veteran Equine Expo announcer who provides commentary during events in the showring. “There are participants from virtually every discipline.
One of the highlights is the Trainer Challenge. Three trainers will work with three-year-old fillies that have never been handled. The final event on Sunday evening will allow the audience to see how far the horses have progressed.
The Information Theatre features presentations by faculty and students from the Western College of Veterinary of Medicine. The trade show features everything from western wear to horse tack.
More details on schedules, trainers and clinicians can be viewed at the Saskatchewan Equine Expo website.
