McLennan, Alberta RCMP have arrested a 31-year-old man from Peace River in connection to an investigation about sexual offences against a youth, which police believe could have a connection to Saskatoon and Lloydminster.
Last June, Alberta RCMP responded to a report of sexual offences against a youth which allegedly took place at a school in the High Prairie School Division. On Wednesday, Brock Mackenzie Whalen of Peace River was charged with sexual assault, sexual interference, making sexually explicit material available to a child, child exploitation, and two counts of luring a child. He has been released on conditions with his next court date March 18th in Peace River.
Saskatchewan RCMP say Whalen did teacher practicum at Greystone Heights and École College Park School in 2013 and 2015. Alberta RCMP report that Whalen also taught in the Lloydminster Public School Division in 2014 and in Alberta in the High Prairie School Division and Holy Family Catholic Regional Division in Peace River.
Anyone concerned that their children may have been involved in an incident related to this investigation is encouraged to contact their local police.
