After snow overnight, the City of Prince Albert has declared a Snow Route Parking Ban. It goes into effect at 9:00 a.m. Monday.
Parking is prohibited on Snow Routes when a Snow Route Parking Ban is declared. Streets are marked with “No Parking When Declared” signs.
The parking ban means drivers have to immediately remove their vehicles from Snow Routes which are marked by a snow route sign. For City crews to effectively clear all streets marked with a Snow Route Parking Ban sign, vehicles not removed from the street will be ticketed and/or towed at the owner’s expense.
Parking bans usually last 48 hours and if the Priority One streets are cleared before the 48 hours has lapsed and there is no threat of a continuing storm, the parking ban may be withdrawn sooner.
Meanwhile, the City of Regina says its crews are focusing on high-speed roads as well as those with the greatest volume of traffic and emergency routes. A 24-hour snow route was declared on Sunday to ensure certain routes are passable for emergency response vehicles.
As the snowfall ends, the City of Regina and its contracted support (approximately 50 pieces of equipment) will be deployed in a systematic plow of our Category 1, 2 and 3 roadways.
