Update Thursday 5 a.m.: The Highway Hotline indicates Highway 11 near Bladworth, in both directions, is open to traffic.
–Original Story–
Saskatoon RCMP responded to a serious collision on Highway #11 a few kilometres north of Bladworth.
The northbound lanes in the area on Highway #11 are closed. Traffic is being rerouted for an undetermined amount of time. Late Wednesday afternoon, Saskatchewan RCMP said the roads were still closed and anyone expecting to drive in that area this evening should check the Highway Hotline for updates.
A listener sent a video of the accident scene to our newsroom which shows one north bound semi hauling what appears to be large logs or power poles. It crossed the median, crossed the southbound lanes and rolled in the southbound ditch. Another semi is jackknifed with what is described as severe damage to its cab. Vehicles are backed up for several kilometres.
Motorists are advised to plan alternate routes. Bladworth is about 17 kilometres north of Davidson, which is roughly halfway between Saskatoon and Regina.
