Kids Help Phone is launching an initiative aimed at helping equity-deserving communities thrive titled RiseUp: Kids Help Phone’s Action Plan for Supporting Black Youth.
Several actions to be taken through the program include broadening awareness of KHP services for Black youth and developing deeper connections with community centres, schools, pediatric hospitals, shelters, sports organizations and Black content creators.
KHP will also be adding 200 Black community resources into their Resources Around Me database, increasing the number of African, Caribbean and Black employees at KHP, recruiting 100+ African, Caribbean and Black crisis responder volunteers, and developing volunteer and mentorship programs tailored for African, Caribbean and Black youth.
