The woman whose body was discovered in a rural area in the RM of Moose Mountain on Thursday has been identified as 28-year-old Brianna Hayes of Oxbow. Carlyle RCMP received a report about a potential homicide on Wednesday, and then the Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes investigation began at the Oxbow landfill, but when no human remains were found the search expanded and that’s when the body of Brianna Hayes was discovered.
Twenty-seven-year-old Tyler Shaw from the Village of Gainsborough was arrested and charged with accessory after the fact to murder. A 24-year-old man who was taken into custody pending further investigation is now charged with 2nd degree murder. Taylor Japp of Oxbow is scheduled to appear in Regina Provincial Court on Monday. The investigation is ongoing.
