Shortly before 2 this afternoon (Thurs), the Saskatoon Police Service responded to a home in the 700 block of Weldon Avenue and later advised the public of a significant police presence and detours in the area in the West Industrial neighbourhood.
A news release from the Police Service says there was a report of a domestic disturbance where a woman was injured. She had gotten out of the home through a window and was on the roof, where she caught the attention of a passerby. A perimeter was established around the home while firefighters provided a ladder to help the injured woman down, where she was treated by paramedics.
Officers were told a possibly armed male may still be in the home, so members of the Tactical Support Unit, Canine Unit and Crisis Negotiation Team responded.
After attempts to contact anyone who might be inside, police entered the home, but no one was there. Police continue to investigate.
