Almost $7,000 in cash, meth, hard cocaine, powdered cocaine, two vehicles, folding knives and other items consistent with drug trafficking were seized in connection to a “dial-a-dope” investigation.
This past Saturday evening around 10:20 p.m. officers with the Crime Reduction Team and the Tactical Support Unit conducted enforcement in the 1800 block of 8th Street East.
A news release from the Police Service reports that two men, 31 and 23-years-old, were arrested and cash, cocaine and meth were seized. A search warrant was then executed at a home in the 600 block of Hamm Place in Rosewood where more cocaine and cash were seized.
Both men are facing drug-related charges, along with a charge of proceeds of crime over $5,000 and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public. According to the Criminal Law Notebook website, with dial-a-dope operations, burner phones are used to take drug orders and then arrangements are made to meet.
