It might be time to consider building an ark. There’s a rainfall warning for a chunk of Saskatchewan that starts at the Alberta border and encompasses Kindersley, North Battleford, Saskatoon, Rosthern, Kenaston, Davidson, Watrous, Wadena, Wynyard, Kelvington and all points in between.
Environment Canada says periods of rain will begin late this afternoon and heavy rain will fall starting this evening and continuing through the day on Friday. Forty to 60 mm of rain is possible.
The national weather forecaster says in addition to the relatively steady rain, some locations will receive heavier bursts of rainfall that will fall very quickly. Any locations impacted by these quicker impulses of rain could see rainfall totals in excess of 80 mm by the end of the system’s impact.
Environment Canada also says to watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.
