Following an RCMP investigation into numerous ATM and vehicle thefts from 2023, two men are facing over 100 combined charges.
The first ATM theft occurred on November 18 in Saskatoon. Investigation determined that a vehicle pulled up to a business, its occupants broke into the building, attached the chain to an ATM inside of it and used the vehicle to pull it out. They stole the machine, along with $20,000 worth of cigarettes. The ATM was found in a field not far away.
After analyzing security footage, police were able to arrest 58-year-old Wesley John from Saskatoon on March 9th on Highway #11.
Through investigation, it was determined that over 20 reported thefts of ATMs and vehicles, were connected. Another suspect was also determined.
On August 1st, a search warrant was executed at a home on One Arrow First Nation. There, 49-year-old Kelly Almightyvoice was arrested. Wesley John is next scheduled to appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court on August 29, and Kelly Almightyvoice appeared in Saskatoon Provincial Court on Wednesday.
