Big River RCMP responded Sunday evening to a report of a man with a gunshot wound on Big River First Nation. The injured man was found at a home on the First Nation and taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police were told the man and two other individuals were walking on Highway 793 when a grey SUV drove past a shot a gun. One of the rounds hit the man.
That same night, officers were told that bear mace had been deployed on Big Loop Road on the First Nation, and again, a grey SUV was involved, being driven by an unknown individual or individuals. A woman was assessed by EMS for non-life-threatening injuries. It is believed the vehicle in both incidents is the same grey SUV. Anyone with information is asked to contact the RCMP or leave an anonymous tip with Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers.
