A Saskatoon man has been arrested in relation to a firearm being discharged Friday morning. Officers on patrol Sunday night in the 200 block of Avenue H South spotted a man matching the description of the suspect from the incident Friday. The individual was also allegedly in possession of ammunition.
This all started Friday morning around 9:00 a.m. near 22nd Street West and Avenue I North after a woman allegedly pointed a gun at another women and hit her with hit. A woman was arrested when police arrived, and they seized an imitation firearm. While investigating that incident police came across a spent 9 mm cartridge case nearby. Officers reviewed video footage from a business which showed a confrontation had taken place about an hour earlier between two men where one pulled a knife and the other a gun. The suspect with the gun discharged the weapon and then they both left the area.
The arrest Sunday is in relation to the knife and gun confrontation. As a result, a 32-year-old man is facing charges relating to discharging a firearm while being reckless as to the life or safety of another person, and numerous other firearms charges.
