An employee at a business in Balcarres was assaulted with a golf club during a robbery.
Fort Qu’appelle RCMP says two women entered the business, attacked the employee with the golf club and stole two bottles of liquor then fled in a vehicle.
RCMP say officers immediately responded and located the suspect vehicle travelling near Balcarres. They try to pull the vehicle over, but it fled into a field. Officers boxed the vehicle in and arrested the women inside. RCMP allege that one of them threatened a police officer while being transported to the detachment.
Nineteen-year-old Serenity Fink from Balcarres and 38-year-old Isabelle Starr from Fort Qu’Appelle are each charged with one count of robbery and one count of flight from police. Fink is also charged with impaired and driving over.08 while Starr faces an additional charge of uttering threats.
They were remanded into custody until their next court date Thursday. File Hills Police Service assisted in the investigation.
