If you get an email titled Saskatchewan Carbon Tax Rebate which indicates it is an etransfer from the SaskPower Carbon Council, you’re going to want to delete it.
Saskatoon resident Larry Pavloff says he received the email which indicated if he clicked on the link, he could have his $2,600 rebate.
“A little strange like I don’t think I should be getting that much money. But they really wanted to grab my attention. So, I called my bank to see if I should try and deposit it and they checked this all out and said no stay away from it, it’s probably a scam that you don’t want to be part of.”
Other Saskatoon residents have received a similar email. The quarterly carbon tax rebate labeled the Canada Carbon Rebate was issued last Tuesday for those who filed their income tax while living in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, and all four Atlantic provinces.
