The Saskatchewan RCMP’s Prince Albert General Investigation Section has arrested and charged three inmates in connection to a seizure of illicit drugs at the Prince Albert Penitentiary on September 30th. Correctional Service Canada previously reported the seizure October 3rd.
Meth, cannabis concentrate, tobacco, cell phones, charging cables, and SIM cards were seized with a total value of just under $370,00. An RCMP news release states that a drone approached the penitentiary towing a package on a rope, which was intercepted by an inmate. Correctional Service Canada staff witnessed this and began an investigation and contacted the RCMP.
Thirty-six-year-old Andrew Corrigal and 31-year-old Donnely Nanaquewetung are charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking meth. Twenty-eight-year-old Cy Sharp is charged with trafficking meth. Their court dates are pending. The investigation continues and anyone with information is asked to report it to the local police.
