As Russ Mirasty’s five-year term as Saskatchewan’s Lieutenant Governor is up, the title has now been passed on to Bernadette McIntyre.
McIntyre has held executive roles at Saskatchewan Government Insurance and Wascana Centre Authority. For 26 years, she served on the board of Regina’s Highland Curling Club and was inducted into the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame for her success in the sport.
She was the first woman to be President of the Saskatchewan Curling Association and was also the President of the 2001 Canadian Olympic Curling Trials.
McIntyre was a member of the Senate and Board of Governors at the University of Regina, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Bachelor of Business Administration.
A date for the installation for the new Lieutenant Governor will be announced in the near future.
