The provincial government is slightly adjusting its response to U.S. tariffs after hearing concerns that one of its measures was punishing Canadian production companies.
Originally, the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority notified beverage alcohol retailers, distributors, and producers to stop selling and distributing American-branded alcohol in Saskatchewan.
Since then, the government has learned that some of these American-branded products are produced in Canada.
Now, Saskatchewan has decided to realign its tariff response by focusing on removing only US-produced alcohol from shelves.
The sale and distribution of 54 Canadian-produced American brands will resume.
